On 21 May, the kick-off meeting of the National Key R&D Plan Intelligent Robot Key Project "Key Technologies and Application Demonstration of Robot Automation for the Textile Industry" was held at Weiqiao Pioneering Group. The project was led by Weiqiao Textile Co., Ltd., with 9 units including Donghua University, Harbin Institute of Technology, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Luthai Textile Co., Ltd., and SinceTech(Fujian) Co., Ltd. working together to promote the project.

Yu Jianyong, academician of the CAE Member and president of Donghua University, Cao Xuejun, first level inspector of the Consumer Products Industry Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China, Li Lingshen, vice president of the China National Textile and Apparel Council, Zhao Jie, leader of the expert group on intelligent robots, director and professor of the Robot Research Institute of Harbin Institute of Technology, Liu Jia, deputy director of the Industrial Development Promotion Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China, Bi Zhiwei, vice mayor of Binzhou, Zhu Beina, chief supervisor of the China Cotton Textile Association Professor level senior engineer, Zhang Qian, deputy secretary of the Zouping Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Zouping, Zhang Hongxia, party secretary and general manager of Weiqiao Pioneering Group, chairman of Weiqiao Textile Co., Ltd., Zhang Yanhong, Executive Director and Deputy General Manager of our Group, and vice chairman of Weiqiao Textile Co., Ltd. attended the kick-off meeting.

At the meeting, Professor Wang Rongwu from Donghua University, the project leader, gave a detailed report on the project background and overall implementation plan. The project leaders also reported on the research content and implementation work plan of the project. The experts in attendance provided valuable opinions and suggestions on the project implementation plan.

Yu Jianyong made a summary after listening to the reports of the project and the person in charge of each subject, as well as the questioning and discussion of the expert Group.

Li Lingshen said the industry association would provide strong support in communication and coordination, third-party appraisal, and achievement evaluation.

Cao Xuejun congratulated Weiqiao Textile for representing the textile industry in undertaking national projects and addressing common industry issues. She pointed out that it was necessary to carefully organize and plan, enhance the sense of responsibility and urgency in project implementation, implement responsibilities, strengthen collaboration, and open cooperation. She also stressed the need to strengthen the application of achievements and enable the project to play a leading, demonstrating, and promoting role in textile transformation and upgrading.

After the project kick-off meeting, Zhang Yanhong accompanied Zhao Jie and his delegation to visit Zhang Shiping Memorial Hall and conducted on-site research at Weiqiao Textile R&D Creative Achievement Exhibition Hall and the Green Intelligent factory.
